Overview 

Cells exist in a sea of fluid (i.e. blood or culture medium) and interacts with their micro-/nano-environments or other cellular components. Such interactions play an essential role in delicate biological processes such as cell migration and metabolism which are responsible for cell-based therapy and metastatic diseases. The micro.nano.Enginnering Laboratory focuses on the development of innovative micro-nano-bio-engineering tools that can not only greatly advance our understanding of cell mechanics and biology, but also be easily commercialized and translated to widely-distributed commodities for cell-based therapeutics, point-of-care diagnostics, cell mechanics, and micro-/nano-technologies.

We welcome inquiries from incoming graduate students and postdoctoral scholars interested in working in the lab. Please contact sungyoung at hanyang.ac.kr and respond with a CV and a brief statement describing your expertise and research interests. At the present time, we are seeking talented, motivated students who have an interest in developing novel biomedical, micro-/nano-engineering, biomimetics and cell-based systems.
